Over the past few years many businesses in the tiny community of Juniper have closed. Despite those losses, one couple, David and Stacey Heagney, have made a major investment in the community. The entrepreneurs moved from Fredericton to open an outfitting business.
Paper Birch Lodge and the Governor’s Table Camps (formerly Juniper Lodge) provide guiding services for black bear, moose and deer, as well as guided fishing trips for Atlantic salmon and trout.
This is the story of why the Heagney’s chose the woods over the big city, and why they feel, despite the lagging economy, that Juniper can and will survive.
